Meet the Artist
Michelle’s creative journey began more than 25 years ago in the New Hampshire woods, inspired by motherhood and a love of handmade beauty.
What started as hand-stitched dolls and a few signature room sprays grew into a beloved collection of primitive folk art and scents shared with collectors across the country. The name Blackberry Briar was born from summers spent gathering wild blackberries with her daughter—rooted in nature, adventure, and simple joy.
Over the years, Michelle’s artistry has evolved through many mediums, including painting, clay, soy candles, and silversmithing. She creates jewelry from natural treasures like turquoise, shells, sea glass, and beach-worn stones, each piece shaped by time and the elements. Her work has been featured in Prims magazine and shown at craft fairs throughout New England and the Midwest.
Now living on Cape Cod, Michelle continues to create while dreaming of a return to the small, whimsical works that first captured her heart. At her core, she is a DreamWeaver—transforming everyday materials into meaningful, magical pieces inspired by nature, memory, and story.
